Senior Content Strategist

We are seeking a Senior Content Strategist to join our team and take charge of a project focused on developing product UI content.

As a Senior Content Strategist, you will be responsible for writing and designing product UI content that is accessible, useful, and natural-sounding, keeping in mind human-centered design principles.

responsibilities
  • Create long-form articles for the EGDS documentation site
  • Develop atomic-level content component and pattern documentation
  • Provide product voice/tone guidance and examples
  • Build strong relationships with cross-domain content owners to ensure a cohesive product + brand experience
  • Define content workflows and processes
  • Document best practices for product content
  • Map and source content for new product experiences
  • Create polished Figma flows and PPT presentations for content critiques and stakeholder reviews
  • Define and deliver end-to-end content strategy for product experiences
  • Conduct content audits, competitive evaluations, and heuristic assessments of product content usability/accessibility
  • Conceptualize, write, test, and deliver in-product content using human-centered design methods
  • Create content wireframes and sketches, empathy maps, affinity diagrams, and related HCD artifacts
  • Develop voice flows and ML/AI prompts and guardrails
  • Write long-form articles for Help Center and Destination Guides
  • Document end-to-end content decisions in polished Figma files for stakeholder feedback and engineering handoff
  • Contribute scalable, reusable standards for content mechanics, tone, style, and accessibility
requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Journalism, Communications, or a related discipline
  • Between 5-8 years of experience in content strategy and design for digital products
  • Expertise in writing UI content in American English, with a focus on accessibility and usability
  • Advanced working expertise in Figma, including content-specific plug-ins such as Ditto
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills, including PPT creation
  • Competent facilitation and workshopping skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365
  • Working understanding of headless content management systems and GitHub
  • Working understanding of AI/ML for content design, including NLU development, designing for generative AI, and prompt engineering
  • Excellent relationship-building and team collaboration skills
  • Growth mindset and first-principles thinking

  • Experience in marketing copywriting
  • Working knowledge of SEO and web analytics
  • Experience in A/B testing and experimentation
  • Experience in designing for internationalization and localization
  • Experience in designing for chatbots and voice assistants
