We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Cloud GCP Engineer to join our dynamic team.

As a Senior GCP Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing and managing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability. If you have a strong background in cloud technologies and a passion for building and maintaining cloud infrastructure, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our cloud-based initiatives.

Responsibilities

Enable fault-tolerance, high availability, scalability, and security in the Google Cloud infrastructure and platform
Implement CI/CD pipelines with automated build and test systems
Execute production deployments using multiple deployment strategies
Automate the deployment of Google Cloud infrastructure and platform with Infrastructure as Code
Automate system configurations using configuration management tools
Implement microservices concepts and best practices
Enable application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities
Address issues promptly, responding positively to setbacks and challenges with a mindset of continuous improvement
Execute POCs to ensure suggested designs/technologies meet the already outlined requirements
Quickly learn and adapt to the services used in the environment
Mentor junior system engineers and guide them in their professional growth

Requirements

Knowledge of 5 to 8 years overall experience with a minimum of 3 years on production projects in any public cloud
Background in security, networks, and good communication skills
Expertise in GCP services including Compute (CE, AE, CF, GKE, CR, Pub/Sub), Storage, and Data tools
Proficiency in GCP networking fundamentals (VPC, VPN, Peering, Interconnect)
Familiarity with GCP security fundamentals (IAM, Service Accounts, Workload Identity)
Understanding of container orchestration and GCR (Container Registry)
Competency in setting up load balancers, auto-scaling, databases, and firewall rules
Skills in backup and recovery methodology and implementation on GCP
Capability to use Infrastructure as Code tooling like Terraform
Qualifications in configuration management tools (Ansible, Packer, Salt, Chef, Puppet)
Showcase of containerization expertise with Docker and Kubernetes
Flexibility to manage Windows or Linux/Unix administration and script with Unix shell (bash)
Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and tooling (GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo, Circle CI)
Understanding of cloud migration/modernization and automated infrastructure discovery using GCP native tools
Experience leveraging GCP’s migration toolset including Migration Center, Database Migration Service, and Cloud Foundation Toolkit
Knowledge of modernizing applications from VM/servers to container-based architecture
Capability to optimize Total Cost of Ownership by leveraging the right services in the GCP landscape
