We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to join our team.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Mainframe technologies, particularly in COBOL, CICS, JCL, and IBM DB2. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on reverse engineering a Mainframe application for a large customer codebase, decoding business logic, identifying data dependencies, and collaborating with the trading team to understand their needs and provide the necessary support.

Responsibilities
  • Reverse engineering the application functionality by decoding the business logic written in Cobol-DB2 Programs, CICS, and JCL
  • Identifying different data dependencies on the different modules and all other dependencies (internal and external)
  • Creating data mapping for input and output fields as per business context
  • Documenting and simplifying all the business rules being implemented in the application
  • Collaborating with the trading team to understand their needs and provide necessary support
  • Working on enhancements and improvements as per project need
Requirements
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in Mainframe technologies, particularly COBOL, CICS, Job Control Language (JCL), and IBM DB2
  • Proven experience in reverse engineering Cobol programs, either manually or via tools/scripts, to extract business logic
  • Ability to identify different data dependencies on different modules and all other dependencies (internal and external)
  • Experience in creating data mapping for input and output fields as per business context
  • Documenting and simplifying all the business rules being implemented in the application
  • Experience in collaborating with the trading team to understand their needs and provide necessary support
  • Working on enhancements and improvements as per project need
Nice to have
  • Familiarity with ASM (Assembly Language)
  • Experience with reverse engineering Mainframe applications in a large customer codebase
  • Certifications in Mainframe technologies are a plus
