We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Systems Architect - Google Cloud, Director to lead the design and implementation of large-scale, complex GCP transformation engagements. As a key leader in this role, you will drive the architecture strategy, modernize applications, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge solutions on the Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the architecture of GCP-based solutions across compute, storage, networking, identity, security, and governance
  • Design and implement GCP Landing Zones, focusing on organization hierarchy, IAM strategy, policies, and enterprise governance
  • Own GCP infrastructure architectures spanning IaaS, PaaS, hybrid, and modernization efforts
  • Guide migration projects to GCP from on-premises or other cloud platforms, ensuring scalability, automation, and security
  • Drive application modernization initiatives, transforming legacy applications into GCP-native, containerized, and API-led architectures
  • Define approaches for rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, and containerization based on business and technical requirements
  • Collaborate with application, engineering, and DevOps teams in evolving monolithic applications into cloud-native or microservices-based architectures
  • Lead client workshops and executive-level discussions around GCP adoption and cloud transformation strategies
  • Partner with GCP engineering, security, and DevOps teams to ensure compliance with best practices
  • Create and present technical proposals and business cases for GCP solution implementations
  • Oversee multi-project, multi-region GCP environments, providing architectural leadership
  • Mentor architects and engineers within the organization to elevate GCP competencies
Requirements
  • 20–25 years of overall experience with a proven track record in leading GCP architecture for large, complex cloud engagements
  • Advanced knowledge of GCP technologies such as VPC, Shared VPC, Firewall Rules, Cloud NAT, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN, IAM, Service Accounts, Cloud Identity, and KMS
  • Expertise in GCP storage and disaster recovery solutions like Cloud Storage, Persistent Disks, Filestore, Backup & DR, and multi-region deployments
  • Background in GCP security and governance with a strong focus on compliance
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Deployment Manager, or Pulumi
  • Skills in CI/CD tools like Cloud Build, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions alongside hands-on experience with gcloud CLI, Python, and Shell scripting
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage CXOs and large audiences
  • Experience leading teams of 6+ members in delivering GCP solutions and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Background in application modernization, including API modernization, replatforming, and containerization with GKE
  • Qualifications in ITIL Foundation training
  • Familiarity with creating RFP responses and leading client workshops on GCP strategy
Nice to have
  • 2+ external architecture certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or TOGAF
  • Broad understanding of containerization, GKE, and event-driven cloud-native architectures
  • Experience mentoring junior architects and conducting architect-level interviews
  • Thought leadership contributions through blogs, tech talks, or community engagements
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud environments like AWS and Azure, as well as hybrid solutions like Anthos or Google Distributed Cloud
