We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Oracle Database Admin to spearhead database migration initiatives, particularly focusing on transitioning workloads to AWS environments. This role requires a deep understanding of Oracle database systems, migration processes, and cloud infrastructure, coupled with leadership expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Lead complex Oracle database migration projects to AWS environments, including RDS and EC2
  • Perform homogenous database migrations leveraging automation techniques and tools
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance, availability, and data consistency issues
  • Design and document architecture, configurations, and migration strategies
  • Use database native replication tools to ensure high availability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, developers, and cloud engineers, to optimize cloud-native database architectures
  • Apply scripting and automation to streamline data transformation, migration, and validation tasks
  • Drive the use of best practices in cloud migration processes and strategies
  • Ensure smooth transitions of database workloads from on-premise setups to the cloud
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on migration methodologies
  • Utilize AWS DMS effectively in migration workflows
Requirements
  • 10-16 years of experience in database administration with emphasis on cloud migration projects
  • Background in Oracle databases and migration technologies, including AWS RDS and EC2
  • Proficiency in database replication tools and high-availability setups
  • Showcase of performance tuning and automation skills in database migrations
  • Familiarity with scripting for data transformation and validation
  • Knowledge of AWS DMS and its application in database migrations
