Lead Cloud GCP Systems Engineer

We are seeking a talented Lead Cloud GCP Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, implementation, and management of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions.

We require an experienced Architect who can contribute to critical application and product development projects.

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the Cloud Architect to lead the development of automation for deploying production workloads in our cloud environment
Provide first-tier support for both internal and external users
Design, install, configure, maintain cloud resources, and develop recovery strategies
Monitor and evaluate to ensure timely upgrades and additions of IaaS/PaaS and software to meet growth requirements
Ensure fault-tolerance, high-availability, scalability, and security on Google Cloud infrastructure and platform
Implement CI/CD pipelines with automated build and testing systems
Manage Production Deployment using Multiple Deployment Strategies
Automate Google Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Deployment using Infrastructure as Code
Automate system configurations using configuration management tools
Implement Microservices Concepts and Best Practices
Enable application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities
Address issues promptly and respond positively to setbacks and challenges with a mindset of continuous improvement
Carry out POCs to verify that design and technologies meet the requirements
Quickly learn services used in the environment

Requirements

Overall 8 to 12 years of experience with a minimum 5 years in production on public cloud platforms
Leadership traits and at least 2 years of team-leading experience
Proficiency in GCP Architecture, and Security, Networks, Hybrid Cloud
Experience with GCP Services - Compute, Storage, Data tools, and Cloud Build
Skills in GCP Networking and Security fundamentals
Understanding of Container Orchestration and Container Registry - GCR
Set up of Load Balancer, Auto Scaling, databases, and firewall rules
Working knowledge of Backup and Recovery methods on GCP
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform
Competency with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Packer, or Salt
Proficiency in containerization with Dockers and Kubernetes
Background in Windows or Linux/Unix administration and Unix shell scripting
Experience with CI/CD Pipelines and related tools like GitLab, Jenkins, or Bamboo
Capability to migrate and modernize workloads into GCP
Knowledge of GCP migration tools such as Migration Center and Database Migration Service

Nice to have

Coding experience with modern languages such as Python, Groovy
